Farmers were educated about connecting digital technology to improve productivity at the AgForce SIQ Innovation in Ag Field Day on October 26.
Agtech and Logistics Hub Manager Owen Williams spoke at the event held on the Farm of Bim in Mitchell.
“It’s always good to head out west to speak in person to farmers about the challenges they are facing and potential solutions,” he said.
“I spoke to many farmers about connecting digital technology to improve productivity. They had plenty of questions about agtech and it was great to see the majority had started to look at some agtech solutions – even FarmBot Inc deployed a system on the day.
“It was also fantastic to see Telstra connecting with their customers in the bush and talking them through the innovation they were deploying to continue to increase digital connectivity.”
The day covered a lot of tech, with discussions focusing on the Return on Investment that farmers can gain from implementing new technologies.
Mr Williams thanked the farmers who attended.
“They spoke enthusiastically about the challenges they are facing. It’s always great for us to hear about these challenges so the Agtech and Logistics Hub can work with innovators on solutions.”
