Growing agtech connections with the UK

Members of the British Consulate-General have visited the Agtech and Logistics Hub to discuss opportunities for innovation collaboration between the UK and Queensland.

Richard Cowin and Louise Bisset from the British Consulate-General in Brisbane spent time at the Hub in June, visiting a cotton farm to see a demonstration of a SwarmFarm Robotics spray rig, and saw the facilities available at the Agtech and Logistics Hub for UK innovators who see opportunities to expand their footprint into Australia.

The British Consulate-General representatives were also the special guests at a session focused on agtech innovation and the potential for research, development and commercialisation opportunities between the UK and Queensland. They were joined by Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (Queensland), Trade and Investment Queensland and Syngenta Australia and New Zealand.

We look forward to further developing our relationships with representatives from the UK to help showcase these by showcasing Australian agribusinesses and the cutting-edge tech they’re using.
